Style for Justice!

TOMORROW in honor of Human Trafficking Awareness...They CREATED. You VOTED. It's ALMOST here...The ‪#‎StyleforJustice‬ Collection launches January 13!

Last summer, Noonday Collection partnered with International Justice Mission for the #StyleforJustice trip to Rwanda. They journeyed with an influential group of storytellers to explore how business and fashion are empowering women to overcome injustice. By coming alongside these women and sharing their stories, our storytellers were able to inspire others to use their voices for good.

While in Rwanda, the storytellers formed teams and collaborated with Rwandan Artisans to create five unique accessories. Back in the United States, over 3,500 women gathered on one day for one purpose at #StyleforJustice Trunk Shows across the country. You voted for your favorites and then Artisans in Rwanda - joined by Artisans in India - started to make our #StyleForJustice Collection. You can shop these exclusive designs starting Tuesday, January 13 on my website or at a Trunk Show near you.- See more at: http://www.mindyanliker.noondaycollection.com/styleforjustice

Ethiopian Christmas!

***EDIT: We have decided to limit the number of pictures we put of our kiddos on my public blog, so I did remove a few of them.  I will keep posting the pictures of the kids on my private blog.***

Today was Christmas in Ethiopia! The boys had a snow day and were home from school so mid morning I decided it would be fun to throw together an Ethiopian Christmas dinner for our family! Due to dietary restrictions I had to modify most of the recipes to make them AIP and we weren't able to have injera, but I was able to successfully make a yummy meal!

I pulled out a bunch of the decor we got while we were in Ethiopia and also got to use my new table cloth that my sweet friend, Peggy, had hand stitched for me by some women in Ziway, Ethiopia!  I absolutely love it!

I gave Miss A a new Ethiopian dress to wear today and she adored it!  She wore it to the chiropractor and the grocery store complete with her winter coat and snow boots! haha!  She told everyone she saw that it was "Opia Tismas" and to look at her pretty dress!

My dinner!  I had planned to make a Fall Harvest Chicken dish for our supper before I tried to incorporate Ethiopian food into the meal.  So we had that with Shiro Wat, Tikel Gomen (Cabbage Dish), Ingudai Tibs (sauteed mushrooms) and Selata (tossed salad w/ citrus vinaigrette).

Miss A loves coffee, especially Opia coffee so she was thrilled with both the coffee and popcorn!

Melkam Gena (Merry Christmas)!

Just a note...

First of all, congratulations to my friend, Sandra, for winning the $50 Noonday Collection gift voucher!!  I'm so excited for you and hope you love what you pick out!

If you did not win the gift voucher, you can always shop my Noonday website at www.mindyanliker.noondaycollection.com!  At checkout make sure my name is selected as your ambassador!  What a great way to start the new year, by empowering vulnerable men and women in other countries and giving them dignified, fair-wage work!

Also, if you are wanting to comment on my blog posts, you have to actually click the title of the post and then at the bottom you will see a spot to comment.  I'm not very techy and not sure how to get those comments to show up on my main page.  Until I figure that out, you'll have to do it this way.

Finally, for the few of you that read my old blog that is private, I want you to know that I will still be posting on there! I want to keep that more of our family's scrapbook and don't feel comfortable sharing everything on a public blog.  So keep checking it to see what is going on in our life!

New year, New blog!

A blog change has been much overdue for me and 2015 seems like the perfect time to launch my new blog!  I was ready for a fresh, clean blog that looked more like me and my style.  My sweet friend, Lauren, hooked me up and used her talents to make me this new blog and I love it!!!  If you haven't checked out Lauren's blog, you need to...she has such a beautiful heart and I love her to pieces!

My hopes for this new blog are to continue sharing about our daily life, to share about Noonday Collection and other ministries I'm passionate about and also to share what the Lord is teaching me.

What better way to start off the new year and new blog than with a giveaway?!  But first a few of MY most FAVORITE Noonday Collection pieces!
